Meet the Staff
Beatriz B. Newborn (pictured right) is the Director for Community Service and Service Learning at Saint Peter's College. Beatriz is originally from Miami, Florida. Betty, as her friends call her, graduated from St. John's University with her Bachelor's in Communication Arts and her Master's Degree in Student Development and Higher Education. Betty's responsibilities include working with SPC student clubs and inidividual students who would like to coordinate service opportunities. She also coordinates the Loyola Volunteers Program and oversees the America Reads Program. She has a passion for service and enjoys working with college students. You can reach her by email at BNewborn@spc.edu to get involved today! Ms. Kate Onka (pictured left) is the Assistant Director for Community Service & Service Learning. Kate's responsibilities include developing the Service Learning program at Saint Peter's, working with our America Reads tutors and incorporating reflection throughout the many service opportunities we offer students at the college. Kate is a New Jersey native, but has been finishing her studies at Boston College for the past five years. Kate obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education and her Master's Degree in Higher Education and Administration. She also developed a deep understanding and apprecation for the Jesuit phrase "Men and Women for Others," and brings that passion to her work today. Work Study StaffMarisa Ferris
