Bringing Your Computer to College Healthy Computer Requirements: • Make sure you are receiving updates to your current anti-virus system, or • Install Command Software Anti-Virus [link required] which is available free to Saint Peter's College students and staff. - Keep your virus definition files up to date, - Never open an email attachment unless you already know what is in it no matter whose name is on the return address. - We recommend running an Anti Spy Ware program such as AdAware at least once a week. Wireless Network. Over 90% of our Jersey City Campus is covered by a wireless Ethernet. Before you can access the wireless network, you must bring your laptop to User Support Services, Loyola hall Room 1, to have the required encription key entered. Residence Halls: Veteran's Memorial Court, 140 Glenwood Ave, Whelan, Millennium, and Saint Peter Halls are wired with a network jack for every student. Students in Durant and Murray Halls can access teh wireless network. Students in these two halls who do not have a Wireless Network card can borrow one from the helpdesk. Other Locations: There are jacks to which you can attach your laptop in the library reference room. Problems connecting: Contact the helpdesk. Be sure to give us your building and room number and a phone number or other way we can contact you. |
