DISCOVER is an interactive web-based career guidance system which enables you to explore your academic potential and identify career opportunities that are suitable to your interests and abilities.

Yourself:  Explore your  interests, abilities, and experiences. Obtain an occupation list based on these personal attributes.

Occupations:  Obtain and explore information about occupations that you would like to learn about: job characteristics, education requirements, related majors, potential job growth and salary ranges. Find out where to obtain more information about the occupations you select.

Educational Possibilities:  Check out majors that are related to your interests and abilities; obtain a list of related occupations. 

Job Search:   Explore and learn a variety of job search strategies and tools to help you realize your career goal.

HOW DOES IT OPERATE?

It is fun and easy to use. You proceed through a series of self-assessment exercises and create a personalized list of majors and occupations based on interests, abilities, and level of education. The system offers an additional on-line feature which allows you to save your information and access it for later view and exploration.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

Simply make an appointment with a member of the Career Services staff who will guide you through a personalized session with the DISCOVER System. You can then return and schedule future appointments to further explore your career interests.
