Assistant Professor or Instructor of Criminal Justice - Nine Month Appointment
Visiting, nine-month appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 26, 2008. Primary responsibilities include teaching Corruption, Research Techniques; Criminal Investigation; Homicide and supervising student’s internships. Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a related social science discipline preferred and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Teaching experience desired. Laboratory Coordinator/Instructor
The Biology Department seeks an individual with a M.S. degree in Biology for a twelve month non-tenure appointment to coordinate all lab preparations and teach two sections of General Biology labs. This is an enhancement of our present lab technician position and requires a person who is self-motivated, able to work with minimum of supervision, is highly organized, can work closely with the faculty, and is capable of supervising work-study students. A valid driver’s license is required. Some prior lab experience and lab teaching experience is essential.
Duties:
in charge of all lab preparations – ordering of supplies (in consultation with the faculty) and preparation of solutions
maintain stock room, animal room, and greenhouse
coordinate and supervise work-study students
interact with faculty
handle all lab safety regulations, waste disposal, and EPA regulations
do chemical inventory and lab supply ordering
teach two labs in General Biology (one per semester)
coordinate the lab preparation for Holy Name Hospital (Teaneck, New Jersey) – prepare microbiological cultures and deliver supplies to the Nursing School
some lift lifting – up to 40 pounds
maintain all lab equipment
perform other duties as assigned by the Chair

SALARY: $42,000

Accounting/Business Law - Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in introductory business law and real and personal property, also graduate courses as needed. Requirements: J.D. degree and current business law practice. Prior college teaching experience preferred.
Communications - Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in journalism and communications. Five years of full time experience as a journalist is required and at least one year of teaching experience at the college level is preferred. The candidate should have knowledge of new technologies in journalism, broadcast journalism and online journalism. For appointment as full-time tenure-track assistant professor, a Ph.D. in communications is required. Applicants with a Master's degree in Journalism will be considered for appointment as a full-time tenure-track lecturer.
