Saint Peter’s College Department of Applied Science and Technology is the recipient of $2 million in federal funding from the United States Department of Defense to establish a National Center of Excellence known as the Center for Microplasma Science and Technology (CMST) on the College’s Jersey City campus. The center will serve as the first and only topical scientific and educational center devoted entirely to the emerging field of microplasma research in the United States. (more)
The topic chosen for the Saint Peter’s College 37th Annual Regents Business Symposium November 7, 2008, was Leadership and Accountability in Challenging Times. The purpose of the forum is to inform and discuss current events in business and politics. Sounds of Chopin permeated Rankin Hall, and compelled occupants to follow the lilting sounds to the Music Room, where Professor James Adler directed his students in the department’s semi-annual concert. In addition to the concert, the student art exhibition was taking place in the display cases that line the second floor of the art center. Student artists stood by their drawings, paintings, graphic designs and photographic creations waiting to answer questions or accept compliments onlookers might have. (more)
Saint Peter’s College and the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s (NJIT) Newark College of Engineering now offer a five-year dual-degree program in physics and electrical engineering. Marylou Yam, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs for Saint Peter’s College, and Sunil Saigal, Ph.D., the dean of NJIT’s Newark College of Engineering, signed the agreement on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at Saint Peter’s Jersey City campus. The Saint Peter’s College Department of Athletics will induct 10 individuals and two teams into its Athletics Hall of Fameon Saturday, December 13, 2008, as part of Saint Peter’s Hall of Fame Day. The induction will take place on the College’s Jersey City campus, following the doubleheader basketball games between Saint Peter’s College and Seton Hall University at the Jersey City Armory.
