The Communication major prepares students for careers in media as well as other fields that demand strong writing and speaking skills, supported by ethical decision making. The major requirements consist of an 18-credit Communication core, 18 credits in major electives and 12 credits in an outside concentration - courses in areas other than Communication. The purposes of the major requirements are to give each student an understanding of theories of communication, hands-on applications, and an area of interest in which to apply conceptual, verbal and written skills.
