Asian American Student UnionWelcome to AASU!"Thanks AASU!" AASU of SPC raised $155.75 on September 29 for the Katrina Relief Fund. AASU also raised $653.00 on October 16 for the Breast Cancer Walk! Great job! Special Announcements: Join the AASU Forum! For every new AASU member that joins the forum, the SkratchPixels web team will donate $1 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund! St. Peter's College sponsors 37 different clubs and organizations for students. Each group has its own governing body that is responsible for cultivating student interest and developing exciting programming. These groups cover a broad range of interests, from cultural to performing arts, pre-professional and honor societies to volunteerism. The Asian American Student Union was founded to serve the interests and concerns of the Asian American community at St. Peter's College. Its mission is rooted in three areas: Cultural: AASU strives to promote Asian American awareness and education. The organization is culturally diverse, and supports multiculturalism and interaction between different Asian ethnic groups. Social: AASU aspires to create a social network for anyone interested in Asian-American and Asian culture. Our social activities and community service help our members to get involved in the community as well as to build new friendships. Political: AASU will update members on issues concerning the Asian Community and voice its concerns. We also serve as an intermediary between Asian Americans and the College. Finally, we try to collaborate with other Asian and minority groups to create a more diverse campus and to better serve all Asians at the College. |
