Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business and Finance and to the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees, major duties include review of internal controls, evaluation of compliance with applicable federal, New Jersey state and local laws, and coordination of work with external auditors.
Knowledge of not-for-profit accounting and of higher education desirable. Bachelor’s degree in accounting with six years of relevant experience, CPA and/or Certified Internal Auditor and experience working with computerized accounting systems required. Master’s degree in accounting and/or MBA desirable.
Salary commensurate with experience.

The candidate will have experience with preparation required in connection with the College’s annual OMB Circular A-133 audit, including the schedules of expenditures of federal and state awards, and will act as the primary liaison between the Controller’s Office and the Financial Aid Office, as well as the Office of Faculty Research and Sponsored Programs. Responsibilities will include the maintenance of all general ledger accounts related to federal and state grants, and contracts, including monthly and year-end account analysis, reconciliation with Financial Aid Office records, journal entries and preparation required in connection with the annual audit. Candidate will prepare all financial reports relating to grant awards as dictated by funding agency, auditors or governmental agency.
Knowledge of U.S. Department of Education G5 system desired. Ability to interpret grant contract language to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements is required.

Responsibilities will include maintenance of all general ledger accounts related to pledges and discounts, permanently and temporarily restricted gifts, and College designated funds, including monthly and year-end account analysis and reconciliation with Advancement Office records maintained in Raiser’s Edge, journal entries, and preparation required in connection with the annual audit.

The candidate will possess knowledge of IRS regulations applicable to the College and will act as the primary liaison between the Controller’s and Payroll Offices, and with the College community and external auditors on tax related . Responsibilities will include maintenance of the general ledger accounts related to salary expense, payroll tax liabilities and fringe benefits including monthly and year-end analysis and reconciliation with Payroll Office records, journal entries, and preparation required in connection with the annual audit. Additionally, the position will be responsible for the review of the quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and related filings, and coordination with the external auditors in the preparation of the annual Form 990 and Form 990-T.
These positions require a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, or related field, and a minimum of five years experience in higher education or public accounting in the non-profit sector. Working knowledge of DATATEL desired; Microsoft proficiency required. Saint Peter’s College, the Jesuit College of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Activities to assist the Director in providing a quality co-curricular experience for its students. The Assistant Director will assist the Director in all areas of programming, student leadership programs, and oversight of the operations of the office.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Educating student leaders in policies and procedures for student organizations
- Advising the Student Programming Board including providing administrative presence at events
- Authorizing expenditures for student organizations
- Managing and maintaining club office for faculty advisors
- Collaborating with other campus departments to provide a comprehensive programming calendar.
- Evening and weekend hours as needed for programming initiatives.
A strong candidate will have at least two years of relevant experience in the field of student life. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required as well as the ability to work with a diverse group of students.

Saint Peter’s College, the Jesuit College of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Director for Community Service and Service Learning. The Assistant Director will assist the Director in providing leadership for the programs and services offered by the office; assist in building and maintaining relationships with community partner organizations. The Assistant will work directly with faculty of all disciplines in the development of service learning course components. A bachelor’s degree is required, although a master’s degree is preferred. Strengths: supervision, written and oral communication; organizational and planning skills; self-initiative. Required: two years of relevant experience in the field of college volunteer and justice programs, social service delivery and/or public service; knowledge and training in the service learning field in secondary or higher education; understanding of and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching and the Jesuit Catholic mission of the College; dedication to collaborate and learn with college students in co-curricular environment. This is a 35 hour per week, 10 month position.

The person in this position will be working in the Public Services Area, reporting to the Head of that Area. He/she will field inquiries from students, faculty and administration and guide them in finding the information they need. As Bibliographic Literacy Specialist the holder of this position will be required to reach out to faculty and develop library instructional classes tailored to specific courses or assignments. He/she will co-ordinate with other members of the department in developing bibliographic instruction classes and teaching the same. The Specialist will also develop bibliographic literacy programs for faculty, adjuncts and administrators to provide them with information on the latest library resources available regardless of form.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Staff reference desk during the day, evenings and weekends as required.
- Create outreach programs for faculty and administrators to develop bibliographic literacy awareness for themselves and the students by meeting with academic chairs, individual instructors and attending departmental meetings.
- Develop bibliographic literacy classes based on discussions with the College Community.
- Devise measuring tools to assess the effectiveness of the bibliographic literacy programs and revise them as needed
- Schedule bibliographic literacy classes in cooperation with the Head of Public Services.
- Work with professional staff in collection development and maintenance regardless of form.
- Interact with Englewood Cliff Campus Public Services librarians in providing services to both campuses.
- Participate in campus wide committees.
- Assist in special library projects/programs as needed.
- Attend professional conferences and workshops as related to responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree; Masters in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university required; Second subject masters needed for promotion. One year experience preferred. Recent MLIS graduates considered. Good oral and written communication skills required. Professional certificate from an accredited state agency. Successful candidate needs to have a dedication to assist students, facullty and administration in obtaining information in a diverse setting. Interpersonal skills a necessity. Instructional abiities and experience in delivering information literacy, in any form, to a diversity population needed.

There is presently a full-time position available for a Financial Aid Counselor in the Financial Aid Office.
The primary function of the Financial Aid Counselor is to guide the student through the financial aid process. In addition, he/she has the responsibility of performing R2T4 calculations for those students who withdraw.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Counsel students and their families as to their eligibility for federal/state/Institutional aid
Review file for accuracy and completeness, verify financial aid information, determine eligibility and assist in the processing of financial aid payments
Certify loans for electronic processing.
Participate in workshops, open houses on and off campus orientations, presently financial aid material & information.
Advise undergrad and graduate students on financing an education.
Perform Pell reconciliation along with the Director.
