Student-athletes at St. Peter's College enjoy a tremendous environment for academic success thanks to the resources, programs and services offered by both the SPC athletics department and the university's academic support system.
To have success both on and off the playing arena, SPC student-athletes are encouraged to take advantage of all the resources offered by the school's academic support services.
All freshman and transfer student-athletes are required to schedule meeting times with the Academic Athletic Coordinator to discuss current academic progress during at least the first semester. Additional meetings are scheduled on an as needed basis.
In conjunction with Saint Peter's Call Center for tutoring services, the Academic Athletic Office offers tutoring sessions on an individual and group basis.
The Athletic Academic Office is also responsible for helping monitor each student-athlete's progress toward a degree while maintaining athletic eligibility. The Athletic Academic Office does this through direct contact with university professors to track attendance and academic standing throughout the semester.
The Athletic Department provides support in assisting student-athletes with their studies during road trips. Through the use of laptop computers, student-athletes can complete assignments and work on papers while traveling on the road.
The Athletic Academic Office also helps student-athletes coordinate classes with practice schedules to best suit them in maintaining a healthy balance.
